GRMC is now Energy Star Certified

GHSMC have received the EPA Energy Star designation for 2012. This is an incredible accomplishment considering the age of the facilities and the way in which the hospital systems have to be operated to maintain a patient centric environment. In 2011, only 49 acute care hospitals across the country achieved this designation, of which there were only 15 east of Mississippi, only 8 south of Mason Dixon Line, and none in GA. The majority of these hospitals only received the designation for a single or small subset of buildings on their respective campuses, there were NO Academic Medical Centers on the list. Achieving this designation is the result of a tireless commitment to efficient systems operations and energy management.
