Classroom Technologies

Providing a myriad of technologies and audiovisual support for over 230 classrooms at campuses throughout Georgia.

 

ClasroomThe Audiovisual Services team provides traditional audiovisual and computer-based teaching, presentation technologies, and video conferencing technologies, to meet current and emerging needs of the students, faculty, and staff in lecture halls, classrooms, conference rooms, and off-campus venues. This teams assists members of the campus community in scheduling community classrooms and meeting spaces, reserving checkout equipment and delivery, and the setup and support of classrooms and event venues in Augusta, and multiple classrooms and other sites throughout Georgia.

 

 

 

 

Services

Audiovisual Support: Audiovisual Technologists trained in the effective operation of technology within the walls of the classroom, meeting space, or event space are available to assist in the effective presentation of information. The staff assists in preparing the room technology for presentation, assisting faculty and other speakers, and addressing any technology issues that might arise. This support can requested by contacting Classroom & Event Scheduling (706-721-0902 or classroomscheduling@gru.edu.

Distance Education Support (Video Conferencing): Audiovisual Technologists trained specifically to support distance education (such as live, synchronous video conferencing) are available to assist faculty and others in having successful presentations and two-way video conferences. This support can be requested by contacting Classroom & Event Scheduling (phone number, email, EMS web address).

Audiovisual Repair: The team is available to troubleshoot and repair all audiovisual technologies across the University and Health System. In addition to the skills within the team, our preferred vendor partners are available to assist in more challenging issues. This support can be requested by contacting the ITS Service Desk (phone number, email, ServiceNow website) or Gordon Spivey Gspivey@gru.edu 706 721 5136.

Audiovisual Design and Implementation: The team is available to assess your audiovisual needs for any venue including, but not limited to: conference rooms, offices, classrooms, labs, and event venues. We are responsible for enterprise audiovisual standards, managing audiovisual projects, overseeing audiovisual implementations, providing training and final sign off for audiovisual projects. We partner closely with Facilities on new construction and renovations to ensure our customers' audiovisual needs are planned for and implemented according to enterprise standards.
