Master of Physician Assistant Program

Class of 2013 in Surgical LabPhysician assistants perform many clinical functions, allowing the physicians and other health professionals they work with more time for duties requiring their particular knowledge and skill. PAs may specialize in virtually any health care field.

In most clinical settings, physician assistants have their own patient load. They obtain medical histories, perform physical examinations, order and interpret laboratory results, write prescriptions, and assess and treat common illnesses. They also provide such services as disease prevention information, health promotion activities, counseling, and patient education.

HRSA Grant

The Physician Assistant training grant received from the Health Resources and Services Administration includes an oral health objective. We utilize Smiles for Life: A National Oral Health Curriculum in order to meet this objective. This program has been reviewed and is approved for a maximum of 8.5 hours of AAPA Category I CME credit by the Physician Assistant Review Panel.

MPA Bridge Program

The University System of Georgia met on March 18, 2014, and reviewed and approved our proposal to establish the MPA Bridge Program. For more information as we continue to develop and initiate this program, please see our MPA Bridge Program page.

 star imageThe 2015 Physician Assistant CME Update will be held on April 28, 2015. This program has been reviewed and is approved for a maximum of 6.00 hours of AAPA Category 1 CME credit by the Physician Assistant Review Panel. Physician assistants should claim only those hours actually spent participating in the CME activity. This program was planned in accordance with AAPA's CME Standards for Live Programs and for Commercial Support of Live Programs.
